1-minute practice · Quick mental reset
One Minute of Peace
A small pause can interrupt the momentum of a busy day. This one-minute practice is designed for a desk, train seat or quiet corner. You do not have to change your breathing or close your eyes. The aim is to recognise that one thoughtful response is available, even when the day is crowded.
Settle where you are. Allow your feet to meet the ground and your shoulders to loosen.
The timer is silent by default. Spoken guidance uses your device's built-in voice, not a prerecorded MP3. Voice availability, pacing and pronunciation vary.
Guided meditation transcript
Follow the steps at your own pace. Each cue appears at the indicated point in the session; natural pauses between cues allow time for reflection.
- Settle where you are. Allow your feet to meet the ground and your shoulders to loosen.
- Notice a natural breath without trying to make it deeper. Your attention can rest here for a moment.
- Silently think: I can pause. I can choose calm. I do not need to hurry my next response.
- Notice one ordinary sound around you. Return to this moment. Carry one peaceful thought into the next thing you do.
Reflection after your practice
When during your day would a one-minute reset be easiest to repeat?
Feel free to return to this exercise, choose a different duration, or explore another meditation style. There is no score to achieve and no requirement to feel calm immediately.
